A favourite with organisations looking for a memento - bamboo frame with a personalised design:

I have lost count of how many designs we came up with, really. this is just a rack displaying the laminated Islamic literature (excerpts from Quran and Ahadith); available in standard paper sizes of A6, A5, A4 and A3:
Our products are also available at the Muslim Converts' Association of Singapore (Darul Arqam, Singapura).

1st International Islamic Expo, Brunei Darussalam

The expo was held for two weeks from 31 August 2001.

It was a spectacular event with almost the whole country mobilised to the exhibition site. Visitors and exhibitors from all over the world flocked to catch a glimpse of the oldest Quran, The Prophet's (saw) sandal, Syed Abdul Qadir al-Jilani's turban and many, many, many other Islamic artefacts.

Mammoth tentages were erected on the grounds of the Mufti's building to accommodate the droves of visitors. Yup, the Mufti in Brunei has his own complex there in Brunei. All forms of Islamic literature and paraphernalia has to be vetted and approved by the Mufti's panel before they can pass 'quarantine' and go into public circulation.

Hologram stickers (as seen enlarged, above) from the Mufti's office have to be pasted on each and every one of the islamic books and literature. Even the printed materials of MUIS (Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura) or the Singapore Religious Council were inspected. We are proud to say that our products have gone through this process and given the "all clear". Alhamdulillah! (Praise be to ALLAH!)

A view of the site:

Below is Samat Matsuari (one of the directors of zippidee dooda pte ltd) posing at the pavilion leading to one of the exhibition halls:

Photography was not allowed in the main exhibition hall housing the artefacts .. so we regret that we have no pics to post here. BUT there is this pic of yours truly with two of the Pakistani Officers hired to guard the exhibits:
btw, i'm 1.7m!! Behind us is our booth (this is at another exhibition hall)

Waiting for some action ...
fancy meeting a singaporean friend (Ahmad Ansari Bin Yusope Wanjor) by chance in Brunei! So we got to take a pic together...

Here comes the crowd... and they're dressy too!

Young and old, Bruneians sure know how to dress! They gave the already glorious event that extra OOOOMPH!! Check out the baju MIB (Melayu Islam berRaja): Kain sampings are worn at Friday Prayers too, mind you. Subhanallah.

ka-ching!! goes the till...

Our products were an instant hit!
Most of these madrasah girls spent their last ringgit on the button badges!

So many mini road sign designs to choose from ... (If u have a slogan u want us to make into a road sign or a button badge, or fridge magnet, or a laminated poster, etc just give us a call. we'll work something out)

Fridge magnets ... designs you won't get anywhere else in Brunei. Better get them now!! (We get bulk orders from schools, clubs, mosques, associations, corporations and especially restaurants)

See the handsome young man in the white 'songkok haji', that's Ustaz Nazmi ... he was a great help at the expo. See those stickers (kiblat, etc) dangling above them ... that's his idea! Eye-catching, huh?

this guy thought our products were from London. We like to think its a compliment.

A 'zoom-in' on some of the Mini Road Signs.
At just 3 for S$10 (inclusive of sucker-hooks) can you afford not to get one?

Even in a group, these girls are coy. See one of them covering her mouth when she laugh?? It must be the tudung ... a constant reminder. Like one girl put it so well: it is a garment of God-consciousness. She took my breath away. A wonderful thing, this tudung...

Every day is a good day, Alhamdulillah!

Hmmm these keychains were our best seller. They're all sold-out.
A closer look at one of the keychain designs:

With daddy in tow, u can buy lots of goodies...

These girls were so cute, they were trying to read every piece of laminated literature. They cracked me up.

A favourite with parents, (i wonder why...)This design is available in A6, A5, A4 and A3 sizes at $2, $3, $5 and $10 respectively. Of course there will be good discounts for bulk purchase. ;)

At some point, we all need to sit...Can you see a green car-decal dangling in front of him? The 3 designs available (below) are now being cleared at just S$5 each from the usual S$15!!:Call us today before they are all sold-out!

In the spotlight...

Our first trip to Brunei was indeed tremendously rewarding. It is definitely the highlight of our business-cum-dakwah endeavour! After a spiritually inspiring time at the Islamic Expo, two lucrative weeks and many friends later, we got a master distributor (someone from the education department) which we chose over two lawyers and an investment banker. The Sultan of Brunei also shook hands with most of the exibitors and to top it all off, an interview with the press!! see Samat basking in the limelight below? If you allow me to be a little immodest, i must add that our products were even featured in the local newspapers. Allahu Akbar!! (God is Great)

Masjid Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah

The crest of the Sultan's mosque on a wall and one of the gates:
Is that gold i see?

Aaaaahh... the mosque beckons.

Nope, no parking problem at this mosque!

Are we there yet??
